Job summary

Brighton Bay Center for Rehabilitation & Healing in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking a Dietary Aide to support residents' dietary needs and assist the Dietary Manager in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the department’s operations in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards and facility policies.

• Must possess a high school diploma at minimum.
• Previous experience as a Dietary Aide is preferred.
• Bonus experience includes training in cost control, food management, or diet therapy.
• Any combination of experience and training which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities of a Dietary Aide in a skilled nursing facility. Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver meals to residents and assist kitchen staff in maintaining a clean, sanitary workplace.
• Review department policies, procedures, manuals, and position descriptions, at least annually and participate in updates to stay current on protocols.
• Interpret policies and procedures to personnel, patients/residents, visitors, family members, as necessary.
• Prepare meals, snacks and beverages following specific procedures.
• Serve meals, ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
• Take inventory of kitchen supplies and food items.
• Set up and take down dining areas and assist with kitchen maintenance and cleaning.
• Assist with educational programs on nutrition.

Dietary Aide Job Summary:

The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting residents fulfill specific dietary requirements to promote their health and wellbeing. In addition to this, they would be assisting the Dietary Manager in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Services Department in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, established facility policies and procedures, to ensure that quality food service and nutritional care is provided.

Dietary Aide Major Duties and Critical Tasks:

• Their duties include preparing and cooking food dishes, delivering food to patients and assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining a clean, sanitary workplace


• Review department policies, procedures, manuals, position descriptions, at least annually and participates in making recommended changes to stay current on facility protocols


• Interprets policies and procedures to personnel, patients/residents, visitors, family members, as necessary.
