Job summary

Fundamental is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist in preparing and serving meals for patients and long-term residents. You will support the Dietary Manager, help ensure meals follow diet orders and quality standards, and contribute to a positive dining experience for those we serve.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, fluent English, and reliable transportation. Experience in food prep in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred, with a competitive hourly wage available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Food handler’s permit preferred according to local regulatory requirements.
• Experience in food prep and service within a skilled nursing or long term care facility strongly preferred.
• Must be able to speak, understand, and write in fluent English.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and service of meals for patients, employees, and special events as instructed by the Dietary Manager.
• Serve food according to the planned menu/spreadsheet and the patient’s/resident's food preferences and diet order.
• Assist the Cook by ensuring the food prepared and/or pre-portioned uses proper food handling/safety techniques and is on time according to the menu and residents’ diet order.
• May wash dishes when necessary or instructed by the Dietary Manager.

Posted Salary Range

USD $14.00 - USD $16.00 /Hr.

Wage Commensuration

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and/ or service of meals/food for patients, employees, and special events as instructed by the Dietary Manager.
• Serve food and snacks according to the planned menu/spreadsheet and the patient’s/resident's food preferences and diet order.
• Assist the Cook by ensuring the food prepared/and or pre-portioned using proper food handling/safety techniques and is of proper quantity, completed on time as scheduled, and is in accordance with the menu & residents’ diet order.
• May wash dishes, etc. when necessary or when instructed to do so by the Dietary Manager.

• Must possess, as a minimum, High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
• Food handler’s permit preferred according to local regulatory requirements.
• Experience in food prep and service within a skilled nursing or long term care facility strongly preferred.
