Job summary

South Port Square in Port Charlotte, FL seeks a friendly Dietary Aide to support health center dining with therapeutic diet trays. The role focuses on accurate meal service, sanitation, and compassionate resident interaction.

Part-time, weekend availability is required. Starting wage is $15.00 per hour with benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401K. Background screening is required by FL guidelines, and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior nursing home food service experience preferred.
• Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
• Team-oriented and caring demeanor.
• Strong communication with residents, families, staff and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required.
• Serves meals in the health center.
• Sets up tables in the health center dining room and breaks down after meals.
• Transport hot and cold foods to and from the health center.
• Transport all required nonfood items to and from the health center.
• Maintains station equipment and a sanitary work area.
• Adheres to personal hygiene standards and dress code.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Performs duties as assigned by supervisor.

The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health center residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus.

The Dietary Aide – Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Dietary Aide:

• Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required.
• Serves meals in the health center.
• Sets up tables in the health center dining room and breaks down same after meal.
• Transport hot and cold foods to and from the health center.
• Transport all required nonfood items to and from the health center.
• Maintains station equipment and work area in safe and sanitary condition.
• Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred.
• Can understand measurements and conversions.
• Are team players!
• Can generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
• Can communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
