Job summary

South Port Square in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to prepare and serve therapeutic diets to health center residents. You will help set up dining areas, transport food, and maintain sanitary standards. Weekend shifts required with a starting pay of $15.75 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Previous nursing home food service experience preferred.
• Able to understand measurements and conversions.
• Team player with ability to communicate with residents, families and staff; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required.
• Serves meals in the health center.
• Sets up tables in the health center dining room and breaks them down after meals.
• Transport hot and cold foods to the health center.
• Transport all required nonfood items to and from the health center.
• Maintains station equipment and a safe, sanitary work area.
• Maintains acceptable personal hygiene and follows dress code.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Performs duties assigned by supervisor.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health center residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Dietary Aide:

• Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required.
• Serves meals in the health center.
• Sets up tables in the health center dining room and breaks down same after meal.
• Transport hot and cold foods to and from the health center.
• Transport all required nonfood items to and from the health center.
• Maintains station equipment and work area in safe and sanitary condition.
• Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
