Position Summary

The Dietary Aide performs various unskilled duties assisting in all kitchen areas. Under the supervision of the Dietary Manager or Assistant Manager, and responsible to the Director of Dietary, the role involves supporting dietary services.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak and follow simple oral directions
• Reading and writing skills
• Ability to cooperate and work well with others
• Knowledge of modified diets
• Some cooking knowledge
• Possession of Food Handler's Certificate may be required
• Willingness to perform simple, repetitive tasks

Duties and Responsibilities

• Stand and walk most of the workday
• Lift 50-60 pounds as needed
• Handle dishes, glassware, pots, and pans
• Push food carts
• Use kitchen equipment safely
• Bend, stoop, squat, and twist regularly
• Maintain cleanliness by mopping
• Work safely around heat and cold, and wet floors
• Respond to auditory and visual cues from patients and staff
• Work in various temperature environments, including warm and refrigerated areas
