Job summary

Ozark Care & Rehab Center in Ozark, MO is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to support resident nutrition and meal services. You will prepare trays, assist with dietary requests, and maintain clean service areas.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in dietary services preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Professional and ethical conduct; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food trays for general and therapeutic diets.
  • Prepare and deliver items as requested by resident care units or residents.
  • Maintain tray line in a clean, neat, and organized manner.
  • Prepare special diet foods as necessary.
  • Deliver food carts to patient care units; return carts to kitchen.
  • Load and oversee dishwashers and log wash temperatures.
  • Wash specified items by hand (pots, pans, knives).
  • Dispose of trash and garbage properly.
  • Put clean dishes and utensils away.
  • Mop floors as scheduled and necessary.
  • Maintain dry storage areas by logging temperatures daily.
  • Assist in preparing salads, desserts, and other nourishments.
  • Observe infection prevention and control practices.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Perform duties to ensure resident safety and quality of care.

Essential Functions of Dietary Aide
  • Prepare food trays for general and therapeutic diets.
  • Prepare and deliver items as requested by resident care units or residents.
  • Maintain tray line in a clean, neat, and organized manner.
  • Prepare special diet foods as necessary.
  • Deliver food carts to patient care units. Return carts to kitchen at designated times.
  • Load and oversee dishwashers and log and record wash/rinse temperatures.
  • Wash specified items by hand. Example – Pots, pans, knives.
  • Dispose of trash and garbage in appropriate manner.
  • Put clean dishes and utensils away
  • Mop floors as scheduled and as necessary.
  • Clean walk-in refrigerators and storage areas. Maintain dry storage areas by logging temperatures daily and handling the unpacking, dating, and rotating of food and non-food supplies.
  • Assist in preparing salads, desserts, and other nourishments.
  • Performs special cleaning duties as assigned by the Dietary Supervisor
  • Maintain good working relationship within the department and with other departments.
  • Treat residents and guest with respect and dignity.
  • Always observe infection prevention and control practices.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
  • Perform all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Perform other task and duties as assigned.
Qualifications of Dietary Aide
  • High School Diploma or general equivalency is preferred
  • 1 year of experience is preferred
  • Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
