Apple Rehab Saybrook is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to assist with meal prep, dining area cleanup, and stock rotation. You will interact daily with residents and help maintain sanitation and safety across food storage and prep areas.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions in English while supporting a caring, family-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to walk, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, stoop and stretch.
• Able to unload and stock groceries and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and follow English instructions.
• Remain calm and efficient in emergencies.
• Communicate with residents and staff professionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal and snack preparation and dining-area cleanup.
• Receive, rotate, and store supplies and food.
• Interact daily with residents and support their needs.
• Maintain clean work areas and proper sanitation of equipment.

Starting at $17/ hour. 5.5 hours/week, 8:30am-2pm.

Job Description:

The Dietary Aide assists in preparation of meals and snacks as well as clean up of dining areas. Assists with receiving, rotating and storing of supplies and food. The Dietary Aide has daily interactions with the residents of our community. Helps to clean work areas, wash dishes, pans and utensils.

The Dietary Aide complies with infection control, safety and sanitation functions of the facility. Ensures that food storage and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner, and that equipment and supplies are properly maintained. The Dietary Aide handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations, and reports immediately all violations of safety or sanitation rules to supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Ability to walk, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, stoop and stretch.
• Ability to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights and to lift large items up to 50lbs.
• Ability to write and record data, to read and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in cases of emergency.
• Ability to communicate with residents, staff, family members in a professional manner.
