Job summary

Highlands Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Laporte, PA is seeking dedicated Food Service Aides to join our team. This role supports the Director of Food Service in delivering nourishing, attractive meals and a pleasant dining experience for residents.

You’ll follow strict safety and sanitation procedures, stand for long periods, and help with serving meals, cleaning, and storage. We offer medical/dental/vision plans for full-time staff, a 401(k) match, and early pay options.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food service preparation and clean up.
• Verbal and written English communication skills.
• Prolonged standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all food procedures are followed.
• Prepares food using proper food handling and safety techniques
• Maintains proper temperature of food during preparation and service
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in food service department
• Assist in serving meals, beverages, and special items on a timely manner.
• Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Label, dates, and stores food properly
• Maintain a clean sanitary work area.
• Perform dishwashing service and cleaning procedures.
• Prepare and deliver snacks as directed
• Other duties as assigned

Food Service Aide

Highlands Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center is a 120-bed long term care facility located at 918 Main Street Laporte, PA.

We are currently looking for full-time and parttime Food Service Aides. Shifts include every other weekend and every other holiday.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides assistance in all nutrition service functions as directed by the Director of Food Service in accordance with the center’s standards and procedures, federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Assists with providing nourishing, attractive, well-balanced meals and a pleasant dining experience. Must follow company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

1. 1. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Requires demonstrated knowledge and ability in food service preparation and clean up. Verbal and written English communication skills. Position required prolonged standing, frequent bending, walking, stooping, lifting, stretching, moving heavy items, and lifting/ carrying up to 50 pounds.
2. 2. Education:High school diploma or equivalent.
3. 3. Experience:Previous long term care experience or institutional food service preferred.
