Job summary

Gardens Nursing and Rehab Center in Miami, Florida is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to support meal service, tray delivery, and kitchen sanitation in a fast-paced environment.

You will assist with cleaning, food preparation, and handling utensils while following established safety and cleanliness standards; strong customer service is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with the elderly and food service preferred but not required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be a supportive team member and promote teamwork.
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
• Ability to interact tactfully with residents, family, visitors and staff.
• Must be patient and able to handle difficult residents and situations.
• Must not pose a health or safety risk in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Serves meals according to established portion control procedures.
• Ensures meals are appetizing and visually appealing.
• Participates in daily cleaning duties of work tables, meat blocks, and refrigerators/freezers as per policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Dietary Aide

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dietary Aide to join our team at Gardens Nursing and Rehab Center in Miami, Florida. As a Dietary Aide, you will be responsible for assisting with the service and delivery of food trays to designated areas, cleaning of the kitchen per established protocols, and proper washing and cleaning of food utensils and dishes. Responsibilities:

• Serves meals in accordance to established portion control procedures
• Serves meals that are appetizing and palatable in appearance
• Assists in daily cleaning duties as assigned to include work tables, meat blocks, and refrigerators/freezers in accordance to established policies and procedures
• Performs other duties, as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Preferred not required Experience with the elderly and food service
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
• Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
• Must have patience, tact, and willingness to deal with difficult residents, family and staff
• Must not pose a threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace

Working Conditions:

• May be subject to falls, burns from equipment, and/or odors throughout the day
• Encounter reactions from dust, tobacco smoke, disinfectants, and other air contaminants
• Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases and/or conditions which include AIDS, Coronavirus, Hepatitis B, and Tuberculosis
• May be subject to hostile or emotional residents, family members, visitors or personnel
• Works in well-lit, ventilated area. Atmosphere is warm for cooking
• Subject to frequent interruptions
• Communicates with medical and nursing staff, and other departments
• Subject to call-back during emergency conditions
