Job summary

Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking per diem Dining Services Assistants to join our care team. No experience is required and on-the-job training is provided. Weekly pay at $18 per hour with shifts 6a-2p or 2p-8p.

As a Dining Services Assistant, you will follow dietary orders, ensure proper temperatures, and maintain sanitation while supporting residents with care and courtesy.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must follow oral and written communication.
• Must maintain supplies, equipment, and dining areas for sanitation and order.
• Must be patient, tactful, cheerful, and able to work with residents at various maturity levels.
• Must be willing to adopt new dietary practices and ideas.
• Must deal courteously with staff, residents, families, visitors, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Follow therapeutic diet cards as ordered by the physician.
• Ensure proper serving temperature of food and beverages.
• Deliver meals on a timely basis.
• Maintain visual appeal of food and garnish presentation.
• Adhere to nourishment lists and stock nourishment stations.
• Assist the cook in monitoring meal serving times.
• Adhere to sanitation and storage policy and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the dining director.

No experience is necessary. On-the-job training provided. Weekly pay at $18 an hour! Shifts available are either 6a-2p or 2p-8p.

As a Dining Services Assistant, your duties and responsibilities include:

• Follow therapeutic diet cards as ordered by the physician.
• Ensure proper serving temperature of the food and beverages.
• Assure delivery on a timely basis.
• Maintains visual appeal of the food and emphasis on the use of garnishes.
• Adhere to daily nourishment list and stock nourishment stations.
• Assist the cook in monitoring of meal serving times.
• Adhere to sanitation and storage policy and procedure.
• Other duties assigned by the dining director.

Specific Requirements:

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must be able to follow oral and written communication.
• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of the dining service areas; must perform regular inspections of dietary services areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing dietary practices.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
