Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal preparation, service, and kitchen cleanliness in a post-acute care setting. The role assists the cook and dietary supervisor, participates in orientation, and helps maintain sanitary standards across all kitchen areas.

Responsibilities include setting up meals, serving, dishwashing, stocking, and collaborating with staff across departments to ensure efficient operation and quality patient meals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid food handler’s certificate.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Clean and break down returned trays; wash dishes.
  • Operate dishwashing machine and monitor water/chlorine temperatures.

  • Sweep, mop, take out trash, and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
  • Clean work surfaces, equipment, and refrigerators.
  • Maintain sanitary standards in all kitchen areas.
  • Assist the cook or dietary supervisor as needed.
  • Participate in new staff orientation and ongoing training.
  • Work cooperatively and respectfully with all departments.

Job description

Dietary Aide - General Purpose

The Dietary Aide supports the Cook and Dietary Supervisor by assisting with meal preparation, service, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. Assignments may vary based on the needs of each shift.
