Job summary

Serenity Estates of Lena in Illinois is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to join our resident-centered dining team. You will assist in preparing, serving, and delivering nutritious meals while maintaining a clean, safe dining environment and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for residents.

This role supports a friendly team, offers paid orientation and training, weekends every other week 4:00P.M.–7:00P.M.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Experience in healthcare, long-term care, hospitality, or food service preferred.
• Experience working with seniors is a plus.
• Valid Illinois Food Handler's Card is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation, serving, and food delivery.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in dining and kitchen areas.
• Restock food, supplies, and dining essentials.
• Support menu implementation and accommodate special dietary needs.
• Work with dietary team to ensure resident satisfaction.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment per sanitation standards.
• Operate dishwasher and ensure proper cleaning, sanitizing, and storage of dishes and kitchen supplies.
• Sweep and mop kitchen and prep areas to maintain a clean environment.

About the Role

As a Dietary Aide, you will assist in preparing, serving, and delivering nutritious meals to residents while helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment. Your attention to detail, positive attitude, and commitment to excellent customer service will help ensure every resident enjoys a pleasant dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation, serving, and food delivery

• Work closely with the dietary team to ensure resident satisfaction

• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment in accordance with sanitation and infection control standards

• Operate the dishwasher and ensure proper cleaning, sanitizing, and storage of dishes and kitchen supplies

• Sweep and mop kitchen, and food preparation areas to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment

• Previous experience in healthcare, long-term care, hospitality, or food service preferred
