Job summary

Serenity Estates of Lena is seeking a caring Dietary Aide to assist in preparing, serving, and delivering nutritious meals to residents. You will maintain a clean, safe dining environment and support resident health and well-being with a friendly, customer-focused attitude.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Experience in healthcare, long-term care, hospitality, or food service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation, serving, and food delivery.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in dining and kitchen areas.
• Restock food, supplies, and dining essentials.
• Support menu implementation and accommodate special dietary needs.
• Work closely with the dietary team to ensure resident satisfaction.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines.
• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate the dishwasher and ensure proper cleaning, sanitizing, and storage of dishes and kitchen supplies.
• Sweep and mop kitchen and prep areas to maintain a clean, safe environment.

About the Role

As a Dietary Aide, you will assist in preparing, serving, and delivering nutritious meals to residents while helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment. Your attention to detail, positive attitude, and commitment to excellent customer service will help ensure every resident enjoys a pleasant dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation, serving, and food delivery
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the dining and kitchen areas

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment in accordance with sanitation and infection control standards
• Operate the dishwasher and ensure proper cleaning, sanitizing, and storage of dishes and kitchen supplies
• Sweep and mop kitchen, and food preparation areas to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in healthcare, long-term care, hospitality, or food service preferred
• Experience working with seniors is a plus
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Valid Illinois Food Handler's Card is a plus
