Job summary

Wyoming Valley Behavioral Health is seeking a part-time dietary aide for weekends to join our hospital team. You will prepare trays, serve meals in the cafeteria, stock the kitchen area, and ensure food safety and sanitation in a patient-focused environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, being at least 18, and prior food service or hospital experience is preferred. CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification are required (training available on hire) and ServSafe

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Prior dietary aide experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification is preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available on hire).

Responsibilities

• Prepares trays for patients and serves food in cafeteria according to menus.
• Delivers food cart(s) to units.
• Performs dishwashing procedures including pots, pans and equipment.
• Sets up for the next meal.
• Performs cleaning duties in kitchen, serving areas and equipment.
• Checks incoming supplies and restocks storerooms.
• Prepares and delivers snacks and nourishment as ordered by units.
• Checks and records refrigerator temperature logs in patient care areas.

The dietary aide will be responsible for serving food, cleaning, and stocking the kitchen area while adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines. Must be capable of following instructions and maintaining all standards. The aide must be competent and conscientious with a customer-oriented approach. The goal is to provide excellent food services by following instructions and standards.

Day and Evening hours required. Weekends required.
