Job summary

Evergreen Senior Living, with three Michigan Upper Peninsula communities—Evergreen Heights in Kingsford, Evergreen Meadows in Norway, and Victorian Pines in Iron Mountain—seeks a kitchen teammate focused on nutritious meal prep and safe dining operations.

The role emphasizes teamwork, guest service, and attention to dietary needs, with opportunities across full-time, part-time, and casual shifts in a hands-on, resident-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.
• Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to relate positively with residents/patients, families, volunteers, and staff.
• Shows dependability by being punctual; maintains consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and serve meals in dining areas or patient rooms as needed.
• Assist with dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitizing kitchen tools and equipment.
• Help plate and portion food according to resident dietary needs.
• Monitor food stock and report shortages or issues to the kitchen supervisor.
• Provide friendly, respectful service to residents, patients, and staff.
• Assist with meal preparation, ensuring food is prepared and served at proper temperatures and portions.
• Follow established safety and infection control regulations and policies.
• Report disrepair of kitchen and dietary appliances, equipment, etc.
• Observe, note and report changes in resident eating habits, especially those on a specialized diet.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for preparing nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines, assisting with kitchen operations, and ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, a team-oriented attitude, and a commitment to serving others.

Key Responsibilities:

Other Requirements:

• Position may require unscheduled overtime and weekend availability
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours
• Minimum completion of tenth (10th) grade in high school

Physical Requirements:

• Physical ability to lift 20+ lbs

Pay:

From $14.50 - $15.50 per hour
