Job summary

Madrid Home is seeking a caring Dietary Aide to assist in the preparation, service and cleanup of meals under the supervision of the Cook or Dietary Manager. This is a great opportunity for someone in school and looking to gain experience in a nonprofit environment.

You will work with residents and staff to ensure meals are ready on time, maintain clean dining and kitchen areas, and provide friendly, person-centered service within a continuum of care setting in Iowa.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Strong customer service background.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Assures the dining room is prepared for the meal to be served at the specified times.
• Assures food, dinnerware and kitchen equipment is either properly disposed of or clean/sanitized according to schedules and ready for the following shift.
• Responds appropriately to all resident requests on an individual basis.
• Interacts with residents/staff in a positive way while doing food preparation and food service.

In this position, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, serving and cleanup of meals under the direction of the Cook or Dietary Manager. This is a great opportunity for someone in school! As a non-profit organization, we are committed to providing services and support to provide dignified and compassionate care to our residents.

What you'll do as a Dietary Aide:

• Assures the dining room is prepared for the meal to be served at the specified times
• Assures food, dinnerware and kitchen equipment is either properly disposed of or clean/sanitized according to schedules and ready for the following shift
• Responds appropriately to all resident requests on an individual basis
• Interacts with residents/staff in a positive way while doing food preparation and food service

What you'll need as a Dietary Aide:

• Must be 16 years of age or older

Scheduling of a Dietary Aide:

• Regular attendance and punctuality are required
• Must be able to work every other weekend and holiday
