Position Summary:

The Dietary Aide performs a variety of food service functions, maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of food service areas, facilities, and equipment. Assists in food preparation and plates food according to dietary guidelines for regular and special diets. Required Experience for Dietary Aide:

• High School diploma (or equivalent) or technical school
• Ability to work independently and manage meal service for 20 residents
• Some food service work experience required
• Excellent communication skills

Primary Responsibilities for Dietary Aide:

• Handle, transport, and plate food for residents, guests, and employees
• Plate food according to the planned menu using standard recipes
• Follow portion guidelines and garnishing instructions
• Assist other kitchen staff as needed and perform duties assigned by supervisor
• Ensure sufficient food is prepped and prepared
• Communicate shortages or outages to supervisor
• Maintain food freshness, proper cooking status, and temperature
• Keep daily logs and documentation for meal services
• Stock and clean station for next shift
• Follow food rotation policies
• Handle food and equipment according to sanitation policies
• Operate equipment safely
• Report discrepancies to the executive chef
• Deliver and retrieve food carts to satellite kitchens
• Set up service line and prepare for meal service
• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes and utensils
• Monitor cleaning agents usage
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in work areas
• Perform cleaning duties as scheduled
• Inventory and stock food and paper goods
• Prepare snacks and beverages for residents
• Report malfunctioning equipment
• Maintain a positive attitude and team environment
• Promote positive relations with residents and families
• Respect resident rights and ensure a dignified environment
• Follow safety protocols and work practices
• Inspect kitchen appliances and work areas
• Present professional appearance with uniform and name tag
• Support team performance and productivity

General Working Conditions:

This role involves standing for long periods, effective communication, and handling various tasks using hands and equipment. Must be able to read, write, speak fluent English, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and interact appropriately with others. Occasional travel may be required. The work environment has moderate noise levels.
