Job summary

Scenic Wellness Nursing & Rehabilitation in Missouri is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to assist with meals for patients and staff, following center procedures and safety guidelines.

You will support cooks, label nourishments, portion desserts and beverages, and follow production sheets, while maintaining sanitation, organization and timely service.

This role requires good verbal and written communication and prior food service or long-term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand English.
• Basic understanding of sanitation, organization and safety.
• Prior experience in food service.
• Prior experience in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Assists cook as directed by the food service director.
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pours beverages.
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate.

Objective

Performs a variety of tasks usually not requiring cooking skills in the preparation, service, and clean up for meals served to patients and staff in the nursing center and other special events.

Food Preparation/Production Responsibilities

• Assists cook as directed by the food service director

• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures

• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pours beverages

• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The dietary aide candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to read and understand English for business necessity.

• Basic understanding of sanitation, organization and safety.

• Prior experience in food service preferred.

• Prior experience in long-term care preferred.
