Job summary

Whitney Rehabilitation Care Center in Hamden, CT is seeking a compassionate Part-time & Per Diem Dietary Aide to join our team. The role includes reheating and serving trays to patient units, operating the tray line, and delivering meals in the dining areas.

You will help with cleaning and restocking within the Dietic Department. The right candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, good English communication, and a willingness to learn; prior food service experience is helpful.

• Previous food service experience is helpful.
• Ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified and serve food appetizingly.

Responsibilities

• Reheat and serve food trays to patient units and work tray line.
• Serve employees and patients in the dining room and assist with cleaning tasks.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with policies.
• Adhere to sanitation regulations and established policies in food preparation.

Position Summary

The Dietary Aide will be responsible for essential duties including the reheating and serving of food trays to the patient units; working tray line; serving employees and patients in the dining room, and other general cleaning tasks within the Dietary Department.

Responsibilities of the Dietary Aide:

• Collaborate in the preparation of special meals and events, including pot washing and restocking.
• Handle food and equipment responsibly according to sanitation policies and procedures
• Skillfully deliver and collect meal trays with precision and attention to detail.
• Provide an enhanced dining service, serving meals in dining rooms and preparing and delivering snacks as directed.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Adhere to sanitary regulations and uphold our established policies and procedures in food preparation.

Requirements of the Dietary Aide:

• High School Diploma/GED Required.
• Previous food service aide experience is helpful.
• Ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified and serve food in an appetizing manner.
