Job summary

Campbell Street in Guthrie Center, IA is hiring a Dietary Aide for part-time evening shifts (4:30pm - 7:30pm) or 5:00pm - 8:00pm, and a full-time morning shift (6:30am - 2:00pm). You will assist residents during meals, provide first-class service, and help maintain a clean, safe dining environment.

The role emphasizes attention to dietary needs, proper temperatures, and teamwork with the Dietary Manager, Head Cook, and Administrator.

Qualifications

• Must be at least sixteen years old; 14+ allowed for the 4:30pm–7:30pm shift.
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English (minimum 8th grade).
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents during scheduled meals to provide a high standard of care.
• Help maintain a clean, sanitized dining area and proper food handling.
• Record temperatures and ensure dietary equipment is cleaned and safe.
• Contribute to a pleasant dining experience and responsive resident service.

As a Dietary Aide you will assist residents during scheduled mealtimes. Dietary aides ensure residents receive the high standard of care by providing the appropriate items for each meal in accordance to their dietary needs, ensuring the safety of food and equipment by recording temperatures, and ensuring the kitchen and dietary equipment is clean and sanitized. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:Removes soiled dishes from pervious shifts that were leftover.Prepares/provides ice water according to the established procedure.Refills salt, pepper, and sugar shakers whenever necessary.Prepare milk pitchers and cold juices.Help serve meals.Fills drink glasses for meal service.Cleans off counters, picks up dishes and utensils and cleans tabletops.Returns soiled dishes and utensils to kitchen and loads dishwashing machine.Pick up paper and trash from floor.Check the supply of coffee cups at service window and replenish when needed.Check windows, ledges, sills, refrigerator, milk cooler, ice machine, coffee urn and tables for cleanliness.
