Job summary

The Bridges at Ankeny in Ankeny, IA is seeking a Dietary Aide to deliver an efficient, exceptional dining experience for residents during scheduled meals. You will assist with meal service, food temperatures, and maintaining a clean, sanitized dining area.

The role requires English reading/writing skills (8th grade) and a positive, team-oriented approach. The facility offers benefits and opportunities for growth in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Shall have a high school diploma, or equivalent, or be in school.
• Able to read, write, understand and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th grade proficiency.
• Possesses clear verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide an efficient, exceptional dining experience with first-class customer service during meals.
• Assist residents during scheduled mealtimes and ensure dietary needs are met.
• Prepare ice water, milk pitchers, and juices; refill beverages as needed.
• Help serve meals and fill drink glasses; clear and clean tabletops.
• Load and unload dishes, empty trash, and maintain cleanliness of counters and kitchen areas.
• Follow cleaning schedules and safety procedures; maintain pleasant attitude with residents and staff.

As a Dietary Aide you will assist residents during scheduled mealtimes. Dietary aides ensure residents receive the high standard of care by providing the appropriate items for each meal in accordance to their dietary needs, ensuring the safety of food and equipment by recording temperatures, and ensuring the kitchen and dietary equipment is clean and sanitized. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:Removes soiled dishes from pervious shifts that were leftover.Prepares/provides ice water according to the established procedure.Refills salt, pepper, and sugar shakers whenever necessary.Prepare milk pitchers and cold juices.Help serve meals.Fills drink glasses for meal service.Cleans off counters, picks up dishes and utensils and cleans tabletops.Returns soiled dishes and utensils to kitchen and loads dishwashing machine.Pick up paper and trash from floor.Check the supply of coffee cups at service window and replenish when needed.Check windows, ledges, sills, refrigerator, milk cooler, ice machine, coffee urn and tables for cleanliness.
