Key Responsibilities:

Patient & Retail Services:

• Work in patient meal service areas.
• Deliver meal carts, trays, and supplies to hospital units.
• Serve food in the hospital café and retail areas.
• Perform dishwashing and pot washing duties.
• Stock and organize food service supplies.
• Assist in cross-trained roles as needed.

Regulatory & Sanitation Compliance:

• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
• Follow HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) guidelines for food preparation, storage, and service.
• Adhere to hygiene standards (hand washing, hair restraints, glove usage).
• Use FIFO (First In, First Out) method for food storage.
• Monitor and record food temperatures during meal service.
• Check and document sanitizer levels and dishwashing temperatures.
• Use two patient identifiers when delivering meals.

Safety & Equipment Use:

• Operate kitchen equipment safely.
• Report any malfunctions immediately.
• Follow MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) guidelines for chemical handling.
• Use proper body mechanics for lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

Customer Service & Communication:

• Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors.
• Answer questions about café food items.
• Address service concerns promptly or escalate to a supervisor.
• Receive and distribute messages efficiently.
