Job summary

Solaris HealthCare Merritt Island is hiring part-time food service staff to support meals for residents in our Merritt Island facility. The role emphasizes care, cleanliness, and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital-like kitchen environment.

Responsibilities include assisting the cook, preparing nourishments, and ensuring food safety and sanitation while delivering meals to resident areas. AHCA background screening is required by policy.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand directions required; reading ability desirable.

Responsibilities

• General responsibilities in food service for meals served to residents and staff.
• Ensure safety, sanitation, and compliance with guidelines.
• Assist Cook as directed by the Food Service Director.
• Transport pans, kettles, and trays to and from work stations and dining areas.
• Prepare and label nourishments according to procedures; deliver to resident areas.
• Prepare and portion desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods.
• Follow production sheets and pre-preparation guides.
• Maintain proper handwashing technique and hygiene.
• Support meal service, sanitation, and food safety duties.

Purpose of Your Job Position

The primary purpose of your job position is to perform a variety of tasks usually not requiring cooking skills in the preparation, service, and clean-up for meals served to residents and staff in the nursing center and other special events, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and Solaris HealthCare’s established policies and procedures.
