Job summary

Clarion Psychiatric Center is seeking a Dietary Aide to support food preparation, sanitation, and delivery of meals within a hospital setting.

The role requires ServSafe certification within the first year and prefers candidates with two years’ experience in a high-volume kitchen. The job involves lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a hospital kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• ServSafe certification within first year of employment.
• Two years’ experience as a high volume cook in a commercial or institutional setting preferred.
• Knowledge of dietary safety and sanitary procedures.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and serving daily meals.
• General cleaning including dishwashing and sanitizing surfaces.
• Deliver snacks and supply items to patient care areas; restock drink coolers.

Education:

Unless previously attained, a successful completion of employer provided ServSafe class with certification will be required within first year of employment.

Experience:

Two year’s experience as a high volume cook in commercial or institutional setting preferred

Knowledge / Skills:

Food preparation, use of commercial kitchen equipment, dietary safety and sanitary procedures.

General Working Environment:

Kitchen / Hospital setting. Works in a well-lit and ventilated setting, is subject to frequent interruptions, patient interaction during serving times and while delivering supplies, and personnel throughout designated areas under varying conditions and circumstances.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and be able to walk and stand for long periods. The Physical Requirements described herein are representative of those, which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. Drug/Alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.
