The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting in the preparation and service of food at Golden Hill. They ensure proper food handling practices in preparation, holding, service, and storage of food, and are responsible for the proper use, cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance of equipment and work areas. Dietary Aide Job Summary:

The Dietary Aide assists residents in fulfilling specific dietary requirements to promote their health and wellbeing. They support the Dietary Manager in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Services Department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations, and facility policies, to provide quality food service and nutritional care.

Major Duties and Critical Tasks:
  1. Preparing and cooking food dishes, delivering food to residents, and assisting kitchen staff in maintaining a clean, sanitary workplace.
  2. Reviewing department policies, procedures, manuals, and position descriptions annually, and participating in updates to stay current with protocols.
  3. Interpreting policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, and family members as necessary.
  4. Preparing meals, snacks, and beverages following specific procedures.
  5. Serving meals while ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
  6. Taking inventory of kitchen supplies and food items.
  7. Setting up and cleaning dining areas, and assisting with kitchen maintenance.
  8. Participating in educational programs on nutrition.
Required Education/Skills/Abilities:

Education: Must possess at least a high school diploma.

Experience: Previous experience as a Dietary Aide is preferred. Bonus experience includes training in cost control, food management, or diet therapy. Any combination of experience and training that provides the skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the role in a skilled nursing facility.

Must have reliable transportation.
