Job summary

Newport Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a part-time dietary aide to assist with light food preparation and ensure meals meet prescribed diets. The role requires strong organization, the ability to work independently, and adherence to health department regulations.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with light food preparation
• Ensure that all therapeutic diets are prepared and served as prescribed on resident's written slip
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a demanding healthcare environment
• Works in conjunction with the dietary supervisor and dietitian to provide a well-balanced meal for the patients
• Follow the Health department rules and regulations on food preparation.
• Sanitation of the department will be maintained in accordance with Federal, State, County and City regulations

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred
• Past experience preferred, but we will train the right people!
• Must have knowledge of basic principles of foods and nutrition, food sanitation and service, familiar with large scale purchase and preparation of food
• Must be well groomed and willing to wear hair covering
