Job summary

Heritage Villa is looking for a compassionate Dietary Aide to support our senior residents. We offer PRN and full-time shifts with evening hours (Sun–Thu) from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm for full-time staff. You will prepare meals, maintain the tray line, and ensure dietary needs are met in a clean, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Must maintain a working email and phone for employer communication.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Professional, good communication and ethical practices.
• Maintains confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food trays for general and therapeutic diets.
• Deliver items to resident care units or residents as requested.
• Maintain tray line in a clean, neat, and organized manner.
• Prepare special diet foods as necessary.
• Deliver food carts to patient care units; return carts to kitchen.
• Load and oversee dishwashers and log wash/rinse temperatures.
• Wash pots, pans, and knives by hand.
• Dispose of trash and garbage in appropriate manner.
• Put clean dishes and utensils away.
• Mop floors as scheduled and as necessary.
• Maintain storages; log temperatures and rotate supplies.
• Assist in salads, desserts, and other nourishments.
• Maintain good relations with departments and residents; observe infection control.

Essential Functions of Dietary Aide:

• Prepare food trays for general and therapeutic diets.
• Prepare and deliver items as requested by resident care units or residents.
• Maintain tray line in a clean, neat, and organized manner.
• Prepare special diet foods as necessary.
• Deliver food carts to patient care units.Return carts to kitchen at designated times.
• Load and oversee dishwashers and log and record wash/rinse temperatures.
• Wash specified items by hand.Example – Pots, pans, knives.
• Dispose of trash and garbage in appropriate manner.
• Put clean dishes and utensils away
• Mop floors as scheduled and as necessary.
• Clean walk-in refrigerators and storage areas.Maintain dry storage areas by logging temperatures daily and handling the unpacking, dating, and rotating of food and non-food supplies.
• Assist in preparing salads, desserts, and other nourishments.
• Performs special cleaning duties as assigned by the Dietary Supervisor
• Maintain good working relationship within the department and with other departments.
• Treat residents and guest with respect and dignity.
• Always observe infection prevention and control practices.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
• Perform all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Perform other task and duties as assigned.

Qualifications of Dietary Aide:

• High School Diploma or general equivalency is preferred
• 1 year of experience is preferred
• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
