General Purpose

Dietary Aides are responsible for assisting in the preparing and serving meals and snacks throughout the facility. They perform various duties in and around the kitchen, including preparation of meals, presentation of food, and delivery of food. They ensure the sanitary condition of tableware and work areas, and deliver and collect food in and around residents’ rooms.

Schedule: Full-time days: 5:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve beverages per recipes.
• Perform food preparation, covering, storage, and labeling tasks.
• Arrange tray and table settings with proper tableware, condiments, and tray cards.
• Serve meals to residents according to schedules, dietary procedures, and resident rights/quality of life principles.
• Deliver nourishments and supplements to the nurse station for distribution.
• Maintain dry storage areas and handle unpacking, dating, and rotating supplies.
• Minimize waste of food and dietary supplies.
• Clear tables and remove dishes, trays, and utensils to the dishwashing area.
• Operate dishwashing equipment and record temperatures.
• Sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces regularly.
• Dispose of garbage properly and deliver soiled linens to laundry.
• Participate in QAPI programs to improve quality of care and service.
• Report and document resident changes appropriately.
• Build rapport with residents, communicate effectively, and create a positive atmosphere.
• Follow instructions, complete assignments, and adapt proactively to changes.
• Show understanding and compassion for elderly residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
