Position Summary

The purpose of your job position is to provide assistance in all food functions in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards that govern the facility and as directed by Dietary or other management.

Part Time AM Shift

The Dietary Aide will treat each resident with kindness, dignity, and respect. They will refer to each resident by their name and communicate clearly, empathetically, and effectively with residents, family members, visitors, staff, and agencies. They will work cooperatively with all departments and demonstrate patience, initiative, and willingness to assist residents, especially those in discomfort. They will relay pertinent resident information to the charge nurse and commit to doing the right thing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Dietician/Dietary Management and Cook as requested.
• Help with meal preparation according to residents' dietary needs.
• Assist in serving meals that are palatable and visually appealing.
• Set up meal service and deliver trays and food carts timely.
• Follow portion controls and sanitation guidelines during meal prep and cleanup.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
• Assist with dishwashing, utensil cleaning, and storage.
• Manage garbage disposal and food waste per regulations.
• Obtain food supplies for upcoming meals.
• Follow safety regulations and report occupational exposures immediately.
• Adhere to facility policies, maintain confidentiality, and perform related duties as directed.

Requirements

Education / Licensure

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Working Conditions

• Work environment may be warm.
• May encounter interruptions and interact with residents, families, and agencies.
