Pinnacle Park Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Salina, KS is seeking a Dietary Aide/Cook to assist with meal preparation and service for patients and staff in a nursing center. The role involves cooking, serving, and cleanup for meals and events, with emphasis on safe handling and quality standards.

The position requires basic sanitation knowledge, good communication skills, and prior food service experience is preferred, especially in long-term care environments.

Responsibilities

• Follows standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Assists cook as directed by the food service director.
• Prepares nourishments and portions desserts, salads and other foods; pours beverages.
• Follows guidelines for pre-preparation and production sheets.

Performs a variety of tasks that may include cooking, service, and clean up for meals served to patients and staff in the nursing center and other special events.

GENERAL DUTIES

• Ensures that safe food handling techniques are used
• Maintains standards for food preparation and quality of food service; uses nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required
• Follows standardized recipes
• Assists cook as directed by the food service director
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pours beverages
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate

Qualifications

• The dietary aide and or dietary cook candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand English for business necessity.
• Basic understanding of sanitation, organization and safety.
• Prior experience in food service preferred.
• Prior experience in long-term care preferred
