Purpose:

Provide services in assigned areas of food service management and dietary consultation under the direction of the Dietitian.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct timely patient visits, accurately assessing nutrition risk levels per department criteria. Communicate assigned nutrition risk to the clinical staff.
• Assist with education, mentoring, and training of dietetic students/interns and new employees.
• Provide basic nutrition education as assigned.
• Plan or edit menus and nourishments to meet individual nutrition care needs, considering diet order, patient preferences, and allergies/intolerances.
• Provide ongoing nutritional care to patients and evaluate outcomes, including changes in nutrition risk status.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
• Qualifications include an Associate's degree in nutrition or a related field, analytical skills for diet planning, and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or registry eligible (preferred).
• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal.
• Act 33 with renewal.
• Act 34 with renewal.
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
