Job summary

Center for Discovery in Chicago, IL is seeking a Diet Technician to assist patients through the treatment journey, supporting dietary needs, meal preparation, and milieu management.

Responsibilities include stocking kitchens, ensuring sanitation, coordinating with the dietitian, and documenting shift notes while maintaining safety and compliance with health standards. Onsite role with daytime shifts and weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• 1 year of education or experience in dietary or nutrition sciences
• CPI, CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications required within 90 days of hire; ServSafe certification within 90 days; food handler’s permit within 90 days; valid driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admissions and supports new patients in the program.
• Provides milieu management throughout the treatment experience and communicates with all team members.
• Assists in grocery shopping for the program and ensures the kitchen is stocked with a variety of foods.
• Maintains sanitation in compliance with health regulations and Joint Commission standards.
• Prepares meals on shift as assigned and monitors patient consumption.
• Ensures accurate portions and servings and facilitates kitchen exposure with patients.

Education

Dietary or nutrition sciences (1 year education/experience)

CPI certification

CPR certification

AED certification
