Job summary

Norwood Towers Post Acute is seeking a Diet Tech to support clinical nutrition services, perform assessments, and assist with therapeutic menus to enhance resident care this fall.

You will collaborate with Nursing, Speech Therapy, Physicians, and Culinary Services to implement care plans, monitor progress, and educate residents and families on therapeutic diets. This role emphasizes compliance and quality initiatives while delivering compassionate, resident-centered nutrition care.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of clinical nutrition experience in long-term care, post-acute rehab, or hospital setting preferred.
• Two-year ACEND-accredited associate degree required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments and risk screenings for residents upon admission and during stay.
• Develop, monitor, and adjust individualized nutrition interventions and therapeutic diets.
• Collaborate with Nursing, Speech Therapy, Physicians, and Culinary Services for holistic resident care and care plan meetings.
• Maintain compliance with state/federal regulations and participate in QAPI initiatives.
• Educate residents and families on therapeutic diets and gather preferences to improve dining satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical Assessments: Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments and risk screenings for residents upon admission and routinely throughout their stay.
• Personalized Care Plans: Develop, monitor, and adjust individualized nutrition interventions, therapeutic diets, tube feedings, and wound-healing meal plans.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with Nursing, Speech Therapy, Physicians, and Culinary Services to ensure holistic resident care and attendance at care plan meetings.
• Quality & Compliance: Maintain full compliance with state/federal healthcare regulations and sanitation guidelines, participating in facility quality assurance (QAPI) initiatives.
• Resident Connection: Educate residents and families on therapeutic diets and gather preferences to enhance dining satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of clinical nutrition experience in long-term care, post-acute rehab, or hospital setting preferred.
• Two-year associate degree program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
