Position Summary

The Dietary Clerk reports to the Nutrition Manager. This role ensures patient meal trays meet dietary requirements within a diet clerk scope of practice.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Review meal plans assigned by clinical care team members and report to relevant departments for timely meal delivery.
  • Modify patient menus according to diet orders using appropriate software.
  • Review alerts for diet changes and communicate them accordingly.
  • Maintain inventory of diet office supplies.
  • Review trays to ensure accuracy of tray build.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in hospital food service preferred.

Work Environment

This role involves 80% standing/walking, with lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs, and 20% sitting in an office setting. It also requires driving between facilities.
