Job summary

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Diet Assistant at UHS Binghamton General Hospital to process patient meal orders and menus, ensuring accuracy and a positive dining experience. You will assist families and nursing staff by phone and at bedside, with a focus on Behavioral Health patient meals.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, customer service experience, and computer proficiency. Prior health care food service experience is preferred.

Position Overview

The Diet Assistant processes meal orders for patients in order to promote a positive patient experience with the meal service. The Diet Assistant takes meal orders from patients, families or nursing staff either over the phone or by visiting the patient at the bedside. The Diet Assistant processes menus for Behavioral Health patients.

Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Food and Nutrition Services, UHS Binghamton General Hospital

Primary Work Shift: Rotational Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 24

Compensation Range: $17.05 - $22.17 per hour, depending on experience

Education and Experience

Minimum Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Customer service experience. Proficient in the use of computers.

Preferred: Prior health care food service experience.
