Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Diet Aide to support the Nutritional Services team. The role involves maintaining sanitary workstations, assisting in dish and food preparation, and transporting patient meal carts in a safe, timely manner.

Responsibilities include proper food handling, portion control, and accurate cash handling at the point of sale. Flexibility for per diem shifts and overtime when needed is required.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in institutional food service with cashier experience.
• Ability to count cash accurately.
• Customer-friendly attitude and ability to operate a cash register.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a sanitary and safe workstation following a clean-as-you-go policy.
• Label and date all food items to ensure proper rotation.
• Assist in the dish room and other areas as needed; support cooks as directed.
• Transport patient meal carts to service areas safely and timely.
• Follow infection control guidelines in food handling.
• Communicate waste and inventory concerns to supervisor.
