Job summary

A healthcare organization is looking for a Diet Aide to support its food service operations. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area and ensuring proper handling of pots, pans, and utensils. Candidates should be able to lift up to 40lbs and stand for long periods. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Breaks down steam table of excess food following meal tray lines.
  • Washes all pots, pans, and utensils used in food preparation.
  • Stacks cleaned pots and pans on storage rack.
  • Properly disposes of garbage and trash in the area.
  • Maintains cleanliness of immediate area and floors.
  • Cleans dumbwaiter after each meal.
  • Dispenses cleaning chemicals as required.
  • Cleans and sanitizes pot machine.
  • Maintains sanitation logs and test kits.
  • Works to improve the quality of the department.
  • Works under the direction of the Manager of Food Production.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (including But Not Limited To)
  • Breaks down steam table of excess food following breakfast, lunch, and dinner tray lines.
  • Washes all pots, pans, and utensils used in the preparation and serving of patient and Cafeteria meals (following sanitation standards).
  • Stacks all pots and pans on appropriate storage rack once cleaned.
  • Properly disposes of all garbage and trash in area.
  • Maintains cleanliness of immediate area, counter tops, dumbwaiter, and floors using appropriate chemicals.
  • Empties and cleans dumbwaiter after each meal.
  • Dispenses proper amounts and mixtures of cleaning chemicals into corresponding sink as required by the Department of Public Health and Sanitation Manual.
  • Operates pot machine; cleans and sanitizes pot machine according to procedures.
  • Maintains sanitation logs and test kits.
  • Works continuously to improve the total quality of the department and other departments with the institution.
  • Works under the direction of the Manager of Food Production.

Physical Requirements & Environment
  • Heat and steam from hot pots and pans.
  • Constantly surrounded by dirty pots, pans, garbage, and grease.
  • Noise from potwasher is high and constant.
  • Floors are wet and slippery due to the nature of the job.
  • Area is not well ventilated, and there is exposure to disinfectant chemicals.
Pay Range

$17.00 - $22.88

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
