Job summary

Snider Fleet Solutions in Sarasota, FL is hiring skilled Truck and Trailer Mechanics to perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Note: this role does not involve heavy engine or transmission work.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of diesel mechanic experience, a valid Class C driver's license, and be able to obtain Federal Annual and Brake Inspector certification within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year of diesel mechanic experience – required.
• Valid Class C Driver's License.
• Federal Annual and Brake Inspector certification required (within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance tasks along with documentation.
• Repair and maintain heavy duty trucks and trailers.
• PM inspection, brake job, brake chamber and slack adjuster replacement, wheel seal replacement and wheel end adjustment.
• Examine all system parts looking for damage, wear, leaks, and safety concerns on trailers.
• Complete DOT forms and work orders accurately and timely, ensuring parts are included.
• Follow safety protocols and company policies.
