Job summary

Mechanics Hub in Honolulu, HI is seeking an experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic to diagnose, maintain, and repair a diverse fleet of trucks and trailers. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs with limited supervision.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years of hands-on truck and trailer maintenance experience, Hawaii Certified or Registered Mechanic status, and strong diagnostic skills. You must pass DOT, drug screenings, and be able to travel to customer yards as needed.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of hands-on truck and trailer maintenance experience.
  • Hawaii Certified or Registered Mechanic status.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet DOT driver qualification requirements.
  • Experience using welding equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair engines, transmissions, and major components.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and road tests to identify and resolve issues.
  • Document repairs in computerized maintenance systems and mentor trainees.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers with minimal supervisionDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems, and other major componentsConduct road tests and use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issuesUse computerized maintenance systems and shop technology to research, document, and complete repairsMentor fellow technicians while continuing to develop skills through ongoing technical trainingMaintain a clean, safe work environment and follow DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards RequirementsRequired:Must be a Certified Mechanic as defined by Hawaii law or a Registered Mechanic grandfathered under statute6+ years of hands-on truck and tractor-trailer maintenance experienceExperience using welding equipment, diagnostic tools, and standard hand and power toolsValid driver’s license and ability to meet DOT driver qualification requirements, including physical examinations and driving record checksStrong mechanical troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, customer service, teamwork, and basic computer skillsAbility to work independently and travel locally to customer yards and training sites as neededWillingness to work in non-climate-controlled environments, varying weather conditions, and safely at heightsAbility to regularly lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally lift up to 100 lbs, and push or pull truck tires exceeding 100 lbsMust pass background and drug screenings and meet applicable DOT requirementsPreferred:Class A or Class B CDLHigh school diploma or equivalent vocational or technical certification in vehicle repairSpecialized training and experience diagnosing engines, transmissions, differentials, and other major componentsOEM training courses, ASE certification, and 608/609 certifications #NJ1 Compensation:$40.50/hourShift premiumCompany-provided major shop tools and advanced vehicle maintenance technologyExtensive technical training across a variety of OEM equipmentLong-term career stability with opportunities for professional growth and advancementBenefits:Excellent benefits package with generous time off
