Dead River Company in Brunswick, ME is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to maintain fleet and equipment in safe mechanical condition. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, tire and brake work, and coordinate outside repairs to keep vehicles ready.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines and vehicle systems.
• Experience with DOT inspections and vehicle safety requirements.
• Basic to advanced mechanical repair and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Review reports and repair safety issues immediately.
• Perform lubrication and oil changes per PM schedules.
• Repair tires, brakes and suspensions on trucks and equipment.
• Perform vehicle inspections including state and federal DOT.
• Maintain fuel pumps, piping, and emergency shut-off systems.
• Keep maintenance records and report inventory needs.
• Schedule outside repairs with vendors and keep areas organized.
• Participate in special projects as necessary.
