Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic in Sparta, Wisconsin. The role starts at $28–$33 per hour with shifts starting at 12pm, typically 8–10 hours, Monday to Friday.

OT after 40 hours and a comprehensive benefits package are available. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel refuse trucks and related hydraulic and electrical systems to keep the fleet safe and operational. The position offers health benefits after 60 days, a quarterly tool allowance, boot reimbursement, 401(k)

Qualifications

• Experience repairing diesel heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of brakes, suspension and PTO components.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, and repair Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair hydraulic, electrical, brakes, suspension and PTO systems on fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical issues to keep trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled to keep vehicles ready for daily operation.
