Job summary

Select Water Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanic to diagnose and repair diesel equipment on and off-site. You will perform inspections, preventative maintenance, alignments, and keep detailed records to ensure reliable operation.

The role requires strong problem-solving, safety focus, and the ability to communicate with management about repair status. Travel to off-site locations is possible; on-call duties may apply, with emphasis on cost control and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle.
• Heavy duty truck mechanic experience.
• Diagnosing & Repairing Diesel Exhaust Aftertreatment systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, diesel engine problems, including hydraulic, pump, and vacuum equipment.
• Experience working on tractor trailers.
• Basic welding skills.
• Ability to understand necessary safety procedures.
• Intermediate knowledge of computer/laptop.
• Knowledge of the oil and gas industry preferred.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations for repair.
• Must be able to use battery and charging system test equipment.
• Certificates, Licenses and Registrations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain transportation fleet prioritizing safety for employees and the public.
• Conduct periodic inspections.
• Review daily pre- and post-trip reports.
• Correct identified deficiencies.
• Schedule and oversee major repairs.
• Complete required documentation.
• Open communication with management on repair status.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Maintain shop and field maintenance equipment including calibration where required.
• Identify and maintain inventory of high-use parts.
• Be on-call to respond to emergencies.
• Control costs of maintenance or repairs through warranties and vendor evaluation.
