Job summary
GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a diesel mechanic to safely operate, repair, rebuild and maintain company-owned or leased heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment. Starting pay is $28-$33/hr with more pay based on experience, certifications, and skill level.
Shift begins at 12pm with 8-10 hour days, Monday through Friday, and overtime after 40 hours. Benefits include PTO, tool allowance, boot reimbursement, health benefits after 60 days, 401K after 6 months, and overtime opportunities.
Qualifications
- Experience with diesel engines and heavy trucks preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance on diesel refuse trucks and fleet equipment.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, brakes, suspension, and PTO systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues to keep fleet operating safely and reliably.
- Perform preventative maintenance and ensure vehicles are ready for daily operation.
