Nexus HR Services in Sacramento, CA is seeking an experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers. You will work in a fast-paced shop, using modern diagnostic tools, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring DOT compliance and high safety standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in diesel tech, a valid CA driver's license (CDL a plus), and strong attention to quality workmanship and customer service for a heavy fleet

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or Heavy‑Duty Truck Technician.
• High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training in Diesel Technology preferred.
• Valid California driver's license required; CDL is a plus.
• ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification is preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, steering components, and air brake systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, brake repairs, inspections, and fluid services.
• Conduct truck and trailer wheel alignments to manufacturer specifications.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment, schematics, and technical manuals to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Repair and maintain tractor‑trailers, heavy‑duty trucks, and other commercial equipment.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering tools for repairs and fabrication work.
• Inspect completed repairs to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with DOT and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair orders, and maintenance documentation.
• Collaborate with service Advisors and team members to complete repairs efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
