Job summary

Rush Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Technician to service customers and keep fleets running smoothly. Responsibilities include diagnosing, disassembling, repairing, and reassembling engines and components, with emphasis on engine overhauls using manuals and factory bulletins.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or truck service facility.
• CDL and Medical card preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, brakes, batteries and transmissions.
• Read job orders and assess vehicle operation to plan work procedures.
• Inspect safety devices and tighten loose parts as needed.
• Lubricate parts and test drive to verify repairs meet specs.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers to boost satisfaction.
