Job summary

R Transport, Inc. is seeking a motivated, dependable Diesel & Trailer Mechanic to join our Arlington, WA shop. This role focuses on general maintenance and repair of Class 8 tractors, dump trucks, and various trailers, including pup, roll-off, and chassis.

We are looking for a self-starter who takes pride in their work and works well independently while helping to keep a large fleet safe and running efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience on Class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Valid Driver's License with Class A or B CDL preferred.
• Professional rolling tool box and hand tools.
• Knowledge of brakes, wheel seals, hubs, suspension and general mechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage time.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Lift up to 100 lbs.
• Able to climb a ladder.
• Operate manual tarp system as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs on Class 8 tractors and dump trucks.
• Repair dump trailers, roll-off trailers, and chassis.
• Brake inspections, repairs, and adjustments.
• Wheel seals, hubs, and bearing service.
• Greasing and lubrication of fleet equipment.
• Preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnose issues using vehicle systems/diagnostics.
• DOT-related repairs and safety items.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and service records.
