Job summary

UNIPEC America, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Trader to oversee Middle Distillates trades, manage market risk, and coordinate arbitrage activities across global desks from its Houston offices.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance with 5+ years of Diesel trading experience and strong knowledge of US Gulf Coast markets. Travel internationally may be required, and compliance with all trade regulations is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Middle Distillates or Diesel trading.
• Strong knowledge of US Gulf Coast and Latin American markets.
• Experience with trading software and risk management tools.
• Ability to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Manage Middle Distillates physical trades, market risks, and coordination of global arbitrage desks.
• Responsible for Middle Distillates trade positions and P&L calculation reports.
• Develop and evaluate new business opportunities for Middle Distillate trades.
• Report market intel, industry trends, and analysis to add value to the company.
• Identify and recommend innovative strategies to deliver marketing solutions to maximize value under all market conditions.
• Coordinate product trading with shipping, operations, middle and back-office functions.
• Remain current on the legal and economic issues affecting the hydrocarbon industry.
• Work closely with compliance to ensure Unipec and counterparties abide by all trade restrictions and applicable laws and regulations.
• Perform all these activities to company standards within a highly controlled environment governed by external regulatory requirements as well as internal controls.
• Report financial gains/losses accurately, promptly, and in compliance with the company’s reporting framework.
• Ensure that all financial discrepancies or losses are documented with supporting evidence and communicated to management.
• Ensure that all data and operational inputs are accurate, timely, and standardized across systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
