Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Alexandria, LA is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee. You will be paid while training to become a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician, with weekly pay and benefits starting after 30 days.

No experience is required to start, and the program offers staged pay increases and certification bonuses. Shift is first, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday–Friday, with a strong emphasis on safety, training, and career development.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 0–1 year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Must be 18+ and proficient in English.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong technical aptitude to learn equipment maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot, work independently or in a team.
• CDL Class A preferred.
• DOT safety regulations; age/work hours per state law.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles and perform fueling and inspection per policy.
• Perform multi-point inspection and report issues.
• Maintain fuel island and perform minor maintenance.
• Complete Technician Training Development Program requirements.
• Attend Service Island Training and related tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
