Job summary

Milton CAT is seeking mechanically inclined individuals for its Diesel Technician Trainee program in Batavia, NY. The program starts January 2027 and includes 2,000 hours of training over a 12-month period with 1,600 hands-on and 450 instructor-led hours.

Participants rotate through various technical areas, travel regionally for on-site orientations at our Massachusetts facility (expenses paid), and may be offered a full-time technician position at Milton CAT or Milton Rents upon successful

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
1+ years experience servicing heavy equipment or equivalent training preferred.
Safety, customer service, problem solving and communication skills essential.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and learn rapidly.
Clean, valid driver's license and basic computer skills expected.

Responsibilities

Complete 2,000 hours of training over 12 months: 1,600 hands-on and 450 instructor-led.
Rotate through technical areas and work alongside Caterpillar technicians.
Travel regionally to orientations and training at the Massachusetts facility; travel expenses paid.
After completion, opportunities for full-time technician roles at Milton CAT or Milton Rents.
