Lawrence Companies in Roanoke, VA is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician Specialist to join our maintenance team. You will diagnose, repair and maintain diesel trucks, trailers and heavy equipment, using diagnostic software and scan tools to resolve issues efficiently.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of diesel technician experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and diesel equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, ECM diagnostics, hydraulics, and air brake systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• Must provide your own tools.
• CDL preferred or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and major component repairs
• Work on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC, suspension, steering, brakes, fuel systems, and emissions systems
• Utilize diagnostic software and scan tools to identify and resolve issues efficiently
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and manufacturer service manuals
• Complete repairs safely, accurately, and in a timely manner
• Maintain detailed repair documentation and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
• Support shop cleanliness, safety standards, and OSHA compliance

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend, crawl, stoop, climb, and work in varying shop and weather conditions
